Fixing error “E: Unable to locate package” in Kali Linux 2017

After installing Kali Linux 2.0 (2016) -

If you get the error “E: Unable to locate package”

Navigate to http://docs.kali.org/general-use/kali-linux-sources-list-repositories
Under The Kali Rolling Repository
Copy –
deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main contrib non-free

And paste into sources.list

Computer – etc/apt/sources.list (Delete everything) and paste
deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main contrib non-free

Save the sources.list file

Open a terminal:

apt-get update
apt-get upgrade –y
apt-get dist-upgrade -y
