Hiding text inside the image -
Open notepad and write something in it. Save it as msg.txt file on your desktop.
Now copy a mp3 file in your desktop – here I have copied a song (Patience by GnR) i.e patience.mp3
Now open a command prompt from desktop. To do so hold the shift key on your keyboard and right click on the desktop and
click on “Open command window here.”
At this point make sure the msg.txt and patience.mp3 file is present in the Desktop
Now on command window type the following:
copy /b msg.txt + patience.mp3 gnr.mp3
This will create a output file gnr.mp3 in the desktop.
Your message “Too old to Rock 'n' Roll - Too young to Die!” is now hidden inside the gnr.mp3 file.
Now delete both msg.txt and patience.mp3 file from the desktop.
To test – play the gnr.mp3 with your favourite player, listen to the song and return back.
Now to retrieve the data i.e Too old to Rock 'n' Roll - Too young to Die!
Right click the gnr.mp3 and open it as notepad
The process of hiding texts inside images is known as Steganography in computer science.
Note : the trick does not work if there is a gap between the name of the file.
Example:
Msg file.txt and patience live.mp3
