How to install and configure OpenVPN on Windows

OpenVPN (Virtual Private Network) server is designed with the latest technologies and most advanced cryptographic techniques to keep you safe on the internet from prying eyes and hackers. Open VPN securely routes all your internet traffic through an encrypted tunnel to bypass government censorship, defeat corporate surveillance and monitoring by your ISP. VPNBook strives to keep the internet a safe and free place by providing free and secure PPTP and OpenVPN service access for everyone.

Open browser and type vpnbook.com and navigate to Free OpenVPN and PPTP VPN section.


Now download openVPN client from https://openvpn.net/community-downloads/ After downloading install the VPN client on your Windows.
Once the software is installed successfully, the windows will close and would reopen with the following message, don’t worry that’s normal.
Now open the browser again and type vpnbook.com and navigate to Free OpenVPN and PPTP VPN

Here click on OpenVPN menu and download one of the VPNBook OpenVPN profile bundles. Note down the username/password.
Unzip the download OpenVPN profile bundles and copy OpenVPN profiles to C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config

Run OpenVPN client as Administrator. Right-click on the OpenVPN client icon, select one of the profiles, and click Connect
Enter the username and password noted in the previous step and you are connected.

OpenVPN client successfully connects to VPNBook server. Your public IP address is now changed to VPNBook server IP address

Note - All bundles include UDP53, UDP 25000, TCP 80, TCP 443 profile
