How to connect two computers with a LAN cable?

Say you have two systems:

Make sure to disable Wifi on both systems

Connect the LAN cable with one PC and connect the other end of the cable to another laptop.

Navigate to Control Panel - Network and Sharing Center

Now we will go to local area network > Properties > IPv4 > Properties

Click on Use the followng IP address and give any IP address Eg:192.168.1.200

And press tab to fill the subnet mask automatically.

Now do the same in the 2nd system as well but only change the IP Eg:192.168.1.21

Now our PCs are connected to each other.

Now say 1st computer want to share the E: Drive then right click and go to properties > Sharing > Advanced Sharing > mark the Share this folder > Click on permission and click on full (If its full the 2nd computer can read,delete & modify data so if you dont want 2nd computer to modify data just click on read > Apply & OK

Make sure in security tab you have Everyone in the Group or user names:

If you dont have then go to Advanced > Change Permissions > Add > Advanced > Find Now > Click Everyone

Now in 2nd Computer go to explorer window and on search box type:

\\192.168.1.21 (Thats IP of 2nd Computer)
